Weekly Challenge #58

You already know this.

Times are tough.

We're all pretty much pinching our pennies and counting our blessings for what we have instead of focusing on what we don't have.

At least I would like to think this is so and can honestly say this is my mindset, more so now than ever before.

My challenge to you this week is to scale back on your holiday spending if you have not already done so.

Give one less gift and instead donate one or the money you would have spent to a local charity, Toys for Tots, the Salvation Army, a food bank, etc.

The money you spend on a lunch or dinner out, a latte, a cd -- whatever it might be -- can and will go a long way toward making someone else's dire times less dismal.

Peace and Love Peeps.

I hear ya girl. I am purposely giving the 3 ladies at work their presents a bit earlier than they expect for 2 reasons. 1) I have a lot going on and don't want to wait until right before Xmas and 2) I scaled back from what we usually do and I want to give them mine first so they feel less pressure to get me anything big. I am blessed right now not to have to pinch pennies but I am still feeling the need to scale back and give from the heart more with homemade goodies and all. Just focusing more this year on the meaning of it all but still giving from the heart you know?!

We decided to send money to NW Harvest. I was some what shocked to find out that they can do so much more with plain old money. A news story on TV a few weeks ago said they could feed a family of 4 with the cost of one can of soup if they had the cash.

our families decided this year not to buy gifts for one another but to donate to the giving tree.

long overdue that sort of mentality if you ask me.
