Don't fall out of your seats y'all.
I am currently separated from my iPod.
It is at home. I am not. I know once I do get home I am not going to want to be back on the computer.
That being said, I thought I would do a random selection from my project playlist and while doing so give you a little bit more insight into why they were chosen and/or what time of my life they represent.
1. Glamorous by Fergie
My girls. This song was on constant rotation in 2007. We played, and continue to play it, at Thirsty Thursday. It was, and still is, a pre-funk mandatory jam. It is a sing-a-long tune and is the ring tone currently assigned to my sisters by choice.
2. Closer by Ne Yo
New to 2008. On many of my playlists and driving cds. It gets me grooving. I dig the video. The song also reminds me of the man.
3. Girls by Beastie Boys
1986. One of the very first tapes, yes I said tapes, I owned. I played the heck out of that sucker. I can remember jamming out to the entire tape on the way to and from swim practice.
4. Sunday Bloody Sunday by U2
High school graduation after party. This was on a continuous play loop. Also, after seeing them play this song live in concert twice, it has stayed in the recesses of my mind. It gets me going {insert rocker type fist pumps and kickboxing aggression}.
5. The Humpty Dance by Digital Underground
Another high school tie in. Senior year of high school. The first couple years of college. Football games. School dances. House parties.
6. Ice Ice Baby by Vanilla Ice
Pretty much the same as #5 with the exception of a few kisses I shared with Mr. Van Winkle. Yup, back in the day, our paths crossed at a few keggers. I didn't know him as Vanilla Ice or Rob. He was Robbie. This was way before he sparked the dance dance revolution.
7. Never Again by Kelly Clarkson
Summer of 2007. Poolside. BBQs.
8. Can't Get Enough of Your Love by Barry White
College. Ally McBeal. Spring break serenades.
9. Wild Thing by Tone Loc
The Creek. Sucking Budweiser through a 7-11 straw. High school dances.
10. It's Tricky by Run DMC
Middle school. My green and white Adidas. Another tape I played the dickens out of on my Walkman and boom box.
Woo wee. That was a trip down memory lane.
Peace and Love Peeps.

Sorry you are separated from the ipod... a true tragedy. ;)
I always smile when I read your choices of music. I am 54 years old and listen to pretty much the same music as you. Don't know why. Just like it!
ICE ICE BABY is an all time favorite! lol.
OOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!
You have some great songs on that list! I forgot about the Beastie Boys song. LOL!!
