From the Road

I had the pleasure to drive the 100 mile National Scenic byway referred to as the Mountains to Sound Greenway on my day road trip last week. Roundtrip mileage was approximately 305.
It was me, the road, the XM radio, the camera, and these views:

This is Western Washington and what it looks like on the sound side of the byway. It is also the area of the state I live in.
RVs are a very common sight in these parts. I counted a total of 32 during the day. I couldn't help but wonder where they were going and what the people's lives in them would reveal if asked.
This is what I saw as I entered the pass/mountain area. Soothing 'eh?
Now I am getting into the desert grasslands of Central Washington.
To break up the monotony of the desert and to show you the interior of the rental, which drove me bonkers by the end of the day, here is the gratuitous self portrait. I intentionally made the seat the focal point.
This is the most common view from the driver's seat. After I changed the picture to sepia, it has become a new favorite. I am also pretty proud the shot is in focus, especially since I was going at least 76 mph. Remember the snow I said I saw on the top of the mountains? Not a whole lot but it is there. Give it a few more months and there will be more snow than you can shake a stick at. A little bit of fall foliage. As with the snow, give it a few more weeks and there will be more fall goodness than you can shake a stick at. I may be OTRA later this week again. If so, those views will be different but nowhere as scenic as this drive is.
Peace and Love Peeps.

Love the road trip pics. I've been to the wet and dry. Don't remember the middle.
