His Face Up in My Space

Today is gonna be a good day. Most all of them are but today? Today I get to see a face I have not seen since April of 2008.
We talk multiple times throughout the day but we have not laid eyes on one another in months.

This is certain to change as he is now a mere few hours away from where I am. Not that Vegas was too far to visit but being in Oregon is almost like being next door.

He is in town for a visit this weekend and to celebrate his birthday, which was yesterday, with his Washington based peeps.

We are hitting the streets of Seattle tonight. First up is an Irish pub followed by a improv comedy show followed by whatever strikes our fancy. Tomorrow we will head somewhere in Seattle to watch the Superbowl.

I believe he is leaving me Monday.

I am sure we will make the most of the time and right now I gotta go get on it. My place is not up to our perfectionist standards and I have strict orders to be ready at a certain time.

He knows how I can procrastinate in getting ready so off I go.

Peace and Love Peeps.

CL in Da House

Fiwa did an amazing job of sharing one of the most recent episodes with my next door neighbor.

If you missed it last week, go here.

I feel for her. I really do. I pray for her all the time. I feel confident in saying she didn't choose to suffer from and with schizophrenia. I want her to be healthy and to be safe.

I pray for me too.

I ask for the strength to deal with the constant music playing at all hours of the night, to accept the unexpected presents with a light hearted attitude, to accept the cinder block dragging up the stairs in the wee hours, to not hear the yelling, the opera singing or her barking like a dog.

I ask for her not to whoosh open the door when I leave and arrive or follow me/my friends down the stairs. I beg for the air fresheners to override the scent of obsessive smoking and yes, I pray for the safety of myself and others too.

I am now beginning to understand the Dr. Prince comment on her heebie jeebie present.

She must really like the 80s as the musical selections she loves, and I mean LOVES, to listen to are the Top Gun and the Purple Rain soundtrack.

At this rate if I hear Highway to the Danger Zone one more time I'm going to start screaming too.

Yet I can't help but wonder if she is dancing around her place in a leather bomber jacket sporting a pair of aviators. When Take My Breath Away is on, she likes to back it up to the chorus and sing along in her best opera like voice. Over and over and over.

Sunday night/Monday morning, as Kyla sat with me while we took turns holding Jasmine, she started in at 10:30 PM and again at 1:30 AM with Prince. She must of listened to When Doves Cry at least three times in a row. This morning she treated me to Darling Nikki.

This is some good times y'all. GOOD TIMES.

She was supposed to be relocated, to where I am not sure, after the last present of maggoty food she left for me. However, the agency begged and pleaded for her to remain where she was and promised to do a much better job of ensuring she was taking her meds as prescribed.

The apartment complex said they would give her one more chance and if she leaves me a present this would qualify as grounds for her removal.

The music, cinder block dragging, yelling, and other actions don't qualify as means for moving, even though she is not in compliance to the quiet hours as outlined in our leases.

Go figure.

So for now I didn't get my peace and quiet from her but rather in the love kitty's passing. I removed the doormat so as to not encourage any other presents. Maybe this wasn't the brightest idea I have had in a long time 'eh?

Peace and Love Peeps.

MeMe - 13 Random

My girl Tina did this one so I'd thought I'd jump on the Random 13 MeMe bandwagon today. Enjoy!

1. WERE YOU NAMED AFTER ANYONE?
Yup. My first name is after my Mom. I have the English version of her name. My middle name is after my paternal grandmother.

2. DO YOU LIKE YOUR HANDWRITING?
For the most part yes. Like Tina I print. The only thing I write in cursive is my signature and y'all, that does not even include my full name. It is only my first initial and last name. Hey I am nothing if not efficient.

3. WHAT IS YOUR FAVORITE LUNCH MEAT?
Cajun Spiced Turkey Breast. If this is not available I'm Ms. Boring and like the old standby, Turkey Breast.

4. IF YOU WERE ANOTHER PERSON, WOULD YOU BE FRIENDS WITH YOU?
To quote Tina, "Hell, to the yeah I would."

5. DO YOU STILL HAVE YOUR TONSILS?
Nope. Those bad boys were yanked in my early twenties and I wondered why it took so long for me to have the operation. I used to catch every little cold and bug-a-roo that wanted to take up residence in my body. Now a days, not so much.

6. WOULD YOU BUNGEE JUMP?
Been there, done that.

7. DO YOU UNTIE YOUR SHOES WHEN YOU TAKE THEM OFF?
Nope, I'm nothing if not efficient remember?

8. WHAT IS THE FIRST THING YOU NOTICE ABOUT PEOPLE?
Depends on the situation and whom I am looking at but if I had to say one thing I hone in on, it'd be the eyes.

9. WHAT IS YOUR LEAST FAVORITE THING ABOUT YOURSELF?
My level of, or rather lack thereof, physical activity but I am making movement to change this.

10. WHAT COLOR PANTS AND SHOES ARE YOU WEARING?
At this moment I am in dark khaki cargo pants and my tootsies are flying free in all of their barefoot glory.

11. IF YOU WERE A CRAYON, WHAT COLOR WOULD YOU BE?
Red of course

12. WHO WAS THE LAST PERSON YOU TALKED TO ON THE PHONE?
Steph. Not having the doormat outside (due to crazy lady) totally threw her and Angie off tonight.

13. DESCRIBE YOUR PENCIL CUP:
On my home desk it is black leather with three compartments and white stitching. On my office desk it is gun metal gray with a place for a small notepad and normal size post its.

Peace and Love Peeps.

Happy Hump Day

Can you believe it is already Wednesday?

I can't. I remember when I was a kid the days used to drag on and my Mom telling me to just wait because when I grew up I would want more hours in a day.

Boy howdy was she ever right!

The very first song I heard this morning was Boogie Shoes by KC & the Sunshine Band. I take this as a sign I am to take on the day grooving.

"I Want To Put On My My My My My Boogie Shoes Just To Boogie With You, Uh Huh"

You are singing it now too aren't you? Mmm hmmm. I thought so. Don't even try to deny it. I see you shaking your groove thing too.

I have a long day ahead and tonight to look forward to.

Wednesday nights, for the time being, have become girls night in at my place. We get together for a home cooked dinner, possibly a drink or two, Nip/Tuck, Real Housewives, and spend some QT together.

Tonight we will be 6 strong. Angie, Kyla, Mars, Mel, Steph, and me.

I'm making Italian Chicken in the crockpot over angel hair pasta. Angie is bringing the salad, Mars is on sweet treat patrol, and Mel is in charge of drinks.

Whatcha' got going on today? Other than putting your boogie shoes on?

Peace and Love Peeps.

It's the Little Things

In my opinion it is the little things that make more of a difference than the big, grand gestures.

More often than not we place emphasis on the big rather than the small.

The everyday can be tossed to the side in favor of a grand celebration.

A small act of kindness overlooked in the presence of an expensive gift.

I like to find peace, love, comfort, and joy in the little things.

One of these little things is the love and support of my friends and family.

I know I am blessed to have this in my life.

Last week when I was traveling for business, Mars knew I was out of toilet paper and made sure I had at least one roll when I arrived home.

When Fiwa found out my flight was delayed, she offered to bring lunch over so I wouldn't have to rush to the store and cook on limited time. She also took my recyclables with her earlier in the week.

When the crew found out Jasmine fell deathly ill, they each made time to come say goodbye to her and spend time with me.

Kyla stayed with me until 3:00 AM thinking her last breath could be taken at any minute.

Maricel came over in the morning to drive me to the vet's office to drop her off for cremation, to hold my hand, and to cry with me.

They, as well as you and many others, checked on me throughout the day, sent texts, emails, called, sent facebook, myspace, and twitter messages.

Maricel came back over last night with pho and gifts from her and Angie; a card, an orchid, and a stuffed turtle with the cutest eyes. She also took out my trash on her way home so I wouldn't have to go out in the cold.

Nothing big there. No expensive gifts. Nothing but lending a helping hand and just being there with love and support; doing the little things that go a long, long, way.

I hope you have the same type of little things and love in your life. It makes life sweet.

Peace and Love Peeps.

Resting Peacefully

Rest in Peace my sweet baby girl.

I thank you for the years we had together.

You were the best love kitty with a personality larger than life.

You are loved.

You will be remembered by many and forgotten by few.

I miss you already.

My precious Jasmine went into the light at 5:38 AM this morning. She passed on in my arms and I thank God her suffering is finally over.

Weekly Challenge #65

This week is something I have not done in over a year and is brought to us by J aka husband for the day.

It is something I really need to do especially considering not knowing what crazy lady next door is capable of.

We'll talk more about that situation later this week but for now, I challenge you to change the batteries in your smoke detectors.

Come on now. All your friends are doing it.

Peace and Love Peeps.

I'm Back

First and foremost, a great big shoutout and thank you to the guest bloggers this week. They did a fantastic job filling in for me don'tcha' think?

Thanks Fiwa, Brad, and Kim for doing what you do and did!

I hope to be by and visit everyone soon. I appreciate the comments and am always open to meeting new people.

For now, I am sitting in one of the smallest airports I have had the pleasure to be in waiting for my flight to take off for home (Redmond, OR is where I am in case you are wondering).

We boarded and have since then deplaned.

I just love flight delays don't you?

No complaints from me. Seriously. I am not whining like some of the peeps around me. I am honestly pretty darn happy the mechanical issue was found before we took off and had serious issues in the air and completely understand not having a mechanic on site at 6:00 AM on a Saturday morning for an airport this size.

I just hope I get home in time to do what I need to do. If my flight hadn't been delayed I would be picking up my car from the offsite parking right about now.

What all do I have going on today you might be wondering. Well lemme tell you.
I need to stop by the grocery store to pick up lunch fixings (lunch is with Brad and Fiwa), pick up a RX refill, prepare lunch, lightly dust and run the Dyson over the carpet, get my hair cut and colored, have lunch, get ready for and attend a work function. Oh and love on the kitties of course.

For those new to checking me out, this is typical and why the blog title is Mo on the Go. I'm usually go, go, going doing what I do.

Today is no different. I was up at 4:00 AM and more than likely won't slow down until I go to bed tonight sometime after midnight.

Live each day to the fullest and embrace the opportunities placed before ya' is how I try to exist in this crazy world we are a part of.

Since my laptop battery is about to die and I am too darn lazy to go find an outlet to plug in to I am gonna' sign off.

Until we meet again, Peace and Love Peeps.

Hello Dear Internet, Fancy Meeting You Here

So my girl Mo sent me a text message this week and said "Kimmy, would you guest blog for me?" and I was all "Are you freakin' kiddin' me...Hell Yeah! Sign me up!" (maybe I wasn't that enthusiastic in my reply text, because really? I'm just learning my home row keys on my phone and most of the time my text messages read like I'm a two year old with dyslexia)...Anyways, so here I am!!!! filling up Mo's blog for this Friday morning.

It's hard to think of writing on someone else's blog cause ya just don't wanna offend people and you certainly don't wanna offend the owner of said blog, you know what I'm sayin? So yeah, I was 'bout to write this post of how I am really hating on this Midwest weather we're having and it's frigid temperatures when it dawned on me again..."Mo's blog. Mo is always positive. Always upbeat. Bright side Mo" so I knew I couldn't write a post about how I'd like to round house kick Mother Nature in the crotch because it's so damn cold outside that my car is struggling everyday at five pm when its time for me to go home from my forty hour gig to start and I'm so afraid I'm going to have to stay there one minute longer. So I thought "Channel your inner Mo, Kim. What would Mo say about freezing her ass off?" Then my inner voice replied with "Mo would throw on a cute hat and cute shoes and she'd rock the snowflakes!" So that's what I'm going to do. Just without the hat and cute shoes cause you know me dear internet, I'm not girly like that.

So I give you dear internets my Top 5 reasons for loving this time of the year.

5) When I don't drink my vanilla latte fast enough in the morning it quickly turns to cold milk and everyone knows that milk does the body good.

4) All the white powder under the pale moon light is like having a personal night light for my car at dark thirty in the morning when I only have one eye open.

3) The healthy rosy glow my cheeks have. (of course it's wind burn but that doesn't matter)

2) That I live in Ohio where temperatures drop down to -20F this time of year and not Antarctica where temps. in 1983 dipped down to a nipply -123F. (double dog dare ya to stick your tongue on a pole there!)

and the number one reason I'm lovin' this time of the year is......

1) It's snuggly time!!! A time when it's okay to put your hands down someone else pants cause really...it's all about the transfer of heat and keeping each other warm.

and that my friends are just a few examples of why I am thankful for this time of the year. *cough* Thanks again Mo for opening up your blog to me...

*in the words of Mo* Peace and Love Peeps.

Thoughts On Blogging

Hello! Guest blogger Brad filling in for Mo today. It's a bit of a challenge for me. Mo's posts typically give you something to think about or a way to challenge yourself to be your best. I, on the other hand typically post drivel interspersed with pictures of my dog, Bear. So I'll try and kick it up a notch.

Some folks have probably reached their saturation point on all things inaugural and political, after this week of celebration and self back slapping but I wanted to share something that blogging has brought me. I'm a pretty political animal by nature and when I first started blogging I tended to rant politics a lot. After a while (and after re-reading some posts) I decided to pull my horns in and sit down and shut up about it.

I found out that when I was quite I was able to hear so much better. Blogging has brought a lot of different people with different ideas into my life. People I would not normally meet in my day to day real life. I've been able to get to know people and like them even though we have differing opinions. I've had some really good debates with new friends of differing minds and learned a lot about opposing perspectives. I've also learned that I'm too quick to judge based on labels like 'Democrat' and 'Republican'.

Tuesday was a big day for this country. But the inauguration of a new president with new ideas will not move our country forward alone. It's up to each of us to take the time to seek out people who think differently then we do and engage them in a dialogue to find a common ground.

It sounds like a tall order but it really is easy to do. I've found the blog-o-sphere full of warm and wonderful people ready to share. All you have to do is share yourself.

The Curious Case of the Package in the Night-Time

Hi, all of Mo’s friends and family. *waves* Mo asked me to guest blog today while she’s OTRA. Man, do you know the PRESSURE of being asked to post on someone else’s blog?! I mean sure, I post all the time on my own, but this is a different animal all together. I tend to ramble as you’ll see, which is ok on my own blog because anyone who reads me knows that about me, but Mo is more succinct and I don’t want to bore y’all to tears. I also like to make up blog titles based on books or sappy 80’s music. Really, I spared y’all the first title that came to mind – be glad. And at least I didn’t have to come up with a topic on my own; this one just fell right into my lap.

Mo has talked once or twice about her crazy neighbor lady, but for the most part, no one else had ever witnessed this behavior or anything out of the ordinary from her. Until Friday, that is. I was hanging out with Mo in her apartment, shooting the breeze, when all the sudden we start hearing this shouting coming from the balcony next door. At first it just sounded like someone yelling to a friend down in the parking lot…then comes the barking. And this lady doesn’t have a dog. Apparently she thinks someone with dogs is out to GET her… oh, how do I know that? Later in the evening we happened to run across some of our burblet’s finest policing the local mall, so Mo stopped to ask their advice about the neighbor. “Oh, you mean the one on the corner of XXX and XXX?” they replied.

Ok, I don’t know about you, but when the police already know who you’re talking about before you give them any information? That’s a scary thing. See, they’ve been called out there several times in the last few days by the lady herself, because she thinks someone with dogs is setting them on her when she tries to leave her apartment. Mo was able to verify that there are no such dogs in the complex, and figure out from something that was mentioned about medications that the neighbor lady is actually schizophrenic.

So hearing a woman barking on her balcony? It made the hair on the back of my neck stand up, and it just ramped up from there. Forgive me if I don’t get the timeline exactly right, but over the next couple of days there was a cinder block that she drug up three flights of stairs at 5:30 in the morning, AFTER putting a piece of tape over Mo’s peep hole so she couldn’t see what was going on. There was operatic singing, singing and loud music at 3:00 in the morning, little “gifts” being left on the center of Mo’s doormat, and then Sunday night Mo came home to find this waiting for her:

Photobucket
In case you can't read the writing it says "Thank you for being a friend. Love, Dr. Prince"

It was halfway between her door and the lady’s door, so she just left it alone that night. The next morning it was still there, but it had been shoved closer to Mo’s door and more text had been added:
Photobucket
“PS, I’m in room 8-10”.

So finally around mid afternoon on Monday, Mo called in THE BIG GUNS.
Photobucket
I love the unintentional Charlies Angels-ass-kicking- look of this picture.

When I started writing this I couldn’t remember if it was ok to mention Kyla by her name here, so I was going to refer to her as THE BIG GUNS. Then I checked Mo’s blog this morning and saw Kyla’s name, but this tickled me so much I’m sticking to it because girlfriend swept into Mo’s apartment, dressed to kill and calm as a surgeon. “I’ll need gloves.” she stated. I was impressed. I was too much of a weenie to open that thing, but THE BIG GUNS picked it right up and swept it into the kitchen, noticing along the way what Mo and I hadn't; it was LEAKING. And then we realized it was double bagged. What on earth was in that thing that she had to double bag it?! What the hell?!

So THE BIG GUNS got right down to business, snapped on her gloves, and started cutting into the bag. Once through the two layers we saw a cherry cordial box, but it was all wet and grody looking.
Photobucket

We looked at each other and wondered what the hell she could have done to cherry cordials to make the box so sodden. Then THE BIG GUNS prodded up the lid and we saw what was inside.

*WARNING - DISGUSTING PICTURE COMING* Proceed at your own risk...

Photobucket
It was rotten food. I have a strong gag reflex, so I had to look away, but THE BIG GUNS says it was maggoty. It certainly had been sitting out a lot longer than it had been on Mo’s porch. And the stench. Uck.

So I ask you… malicious intent? The working of a confused, schizophrenic mind off her meds? I don’t know. What do you think?

Oh, and neighbor lady will be relocated soon, so Mo won't have to live next to her for much longer. I think Mo won't know what to do with all the peace and quiet. ;)

Lunch with Brad and Fiwa

Monday I crashed lunch with Brad and Fiwa.

When I found out about their plan Friday and knew I had Monday off, I asked if I could go.

Fiwa picked me up and off we went. As Brad mentioned on his blog, the lesson of the day was the Chanel perfume counter is near ladies shoes but it does help if you are in the same department store.
Just so you know, he was in Nordstrom and we were in Macy's. Hey, meeting up in a mall can be tricky sometimes.

After we found one another, I grabbed a Tazo green tea from Starbucks, we wandered in a few stores and then headed over to The Cheesecake Factory to get our grub on.
Waters all around and a tea for Brad.

Fiwa and Brad both ordered some black bean soup.

I waited for my chopped salad. Can you believe this is considered a small portion size?

Fiwa ordered the avocado eggrolls for her meal.

Brad opted for the blackened chicken sandwich.None of us had room for a slice of cheesecake. I know, I know! How could that be?

I'll be honest and say mine was driven by the desire to keep unnecessary calories from touching my lips more so than anything. I took in enough calories from the bacon and blue cheese in the salad.

I could have gotten the low carb cheesecake but why tempt fate? Even considering that selection I probably would have caved and ordered a slice of Dulce De Leche Caramel cheesecake.

Following lunch, in which plans were made for haircuts and lunch this Saturday, we walked back to the mall and hit up Borders.

Can I just say I feel something is off in the world in which we live when books are as expensive as they are? No wonder education is hard to obtain for some.

Once again I am giving a shout out to a book sharing network with friends and of course the public library systems. I take advantage of mine all the time and use the online reserve program for all it is worth.

After Brad purchased his selections, we headed to his vehicle for a ride back to the other side of the mall and in doing so he presented us with the mugs we made the last time we were together at his place for Saturday brunch.

I forgot to get a picture of Fiwa's. Mine turned out exactly as I hoped it would. I broke it in last night with a mug of decaf vanilla nut creme tea with a splash of light soy milk.

After we said good-bye, Fiwa and I headed to Mel and Kyla's for a few minutes before heading to Trader Joe's. Oh how we love us some Trader Joe's!

Then Kyla came over to help with the latest present from my neighbor lady next door. The funny side of things has turned from humorous to annoying to heebie jeebie status.

I'm letting Fiwa fill you in on all that as she will be the guest blogger Wednesday.

Brad is guest blogging Thursday and KimmyK is doing her thing Friday.

Why so many in a week?

Go on ahead now and cue Willie because Mo is on the road again in the morning. I'll be home early Saturday morning. In the meanwhile I am trusting these fine folks to keep you entertained in my absence and taking a sense of peace with me knowing Auntie Mars will be taking care of the babies and my space.

So y'all come on back now ya' hear?

Peace and Love Peeps.

Share the Dream, Live the Reality

Today we honor the great Dr. King.
I am very thankful for his vision, sacrifices, life's work, and for paving the way for us.

I am also grateful for my mother and family teaching me to love equally and to welcome people into my life based on the character of the person versus the color of their skin.

This life long lesson is evident in my chosen family and circle of friends. When we all get together we represent multiple walks of life, color, and nationalities.

This is something not too long ago that would have been frowned upon.

We've come a long way but we're not entirely all the way there.

But for now, I celebrate where we are.

Peace and Love Peeps.

Weekly Challenge #64

This week's challenge is in the interpersonal arena.

Allow and/or give yourself permission to say no without guilt or regret.

We tend to say yes when the inner voice is whispering no.

Let this be the week you listen and do what is right for you.

Peace and Love Peeps.

Less is More

We've talked about my thing with candles before.
I shared a little while back how I was giving the flameless candles a go after the wind and rain, which is a common occurrence at this time of the year in these parts, wreaked havoc on my fireplace pillars.
I believe it was Summer who wanted me to post pictures of their thumbs up rating I deemed them worthy of receiving.
Aren't they purty?

No more worrying about them being blown out or having to cut the wicks down nightly.

Plus, they stay the same shape and continuously flicker.

They look pretty good unlit too.

And yes Brad, my fireplace is dirty as it should be.

Nothing will replace the real deal but in this instance it is safe for me to say (flame)less is more.

Peace and Love Peeps.

Cacti Casualty

Precious Pacomo.

I fear we may be parting ways soon.
I fear there will be a RIP headstone in the near future.
I fear the endless gray days and cold weather have done you in.
This is what he looked like the day Paolo and Courtney gifted him to me. I moved him from the kitchen windowsill to my craft table in an effort to provide better lighting when the leaves started to wilt.

Then slowly the leaves started to curl in.
Then they started to wither and fall off.

Upon returning from this last trip, almost all the leaves had met their maker.

However, Pacomo is hanging tough. I'm hopeful he too will be making a comeback like the New Kids on the Block.

Come on little buddy. The tour can't be over when it has just begun.

I'm not ready to part ways. Not just yet.

Peace and Love Peeps.

I Need to Shave My Sweater

As you know I was on the road last week and not always, no matter how detailed my packing list is, I forget some items from time to time.

Last week was one of those times. Shocking I know but it does happen.

There was a need for dressing in multiple layers and wearing a wool sweater or two where I was last week.

Wool sweaters typically "pill" more than other sweaters, at least in my world they do.

I realized I needed to continue to de-pill the sweater I was going to wear Tuesday and failed to pack my fuzz busting sweater shaver for Monday night action.

So there we are. Monday night. Dotted line boss man is checking in. I'm asking the other front desk associate if I can have a disposable razor and share it was because I needed to shave my sweater.

I'll let you absorb that for a moment.

Mo stands in the hotel lobby telling people she needs to shave her sweater.

*ahem*

As soon as I realized how that sounded and an odd look or two was thrown my way, I loudly exclaimed it really was a wool sweater I needed to shave.

The associate checking in dotted line boss man says something to the effect that least it isn't dull working with me when he apologized for my comment and shared, in jest, at least she didn't have to work with me and not know what might fly out of mouth at any time.

For the record, it really was a wool sweater to be shaved.

Peace and Love Peeps.

Weekly Challenge #63

This week's challenge is a very simple one.

Do a random act of kindness for a total stranger.

It can be something as simple as letting someone in line ahead of you.

Just do something.

Put the love out there.

It will come back to you tenfold.

Peace and Love Peeps.

Today

Today I woke up pretty much every two hours starting at 3:33 AM, which incidentally is the time of the day I was born.

Part of it was Jasmine and Princess. Part of it was me being restless and trying to change the path of my dream.

I usually welcome anytime I dream about football (yes, I have dreams of football) and my family but this particular dream was off somehow.

My siblings were present. One of them was taking pictures of the back of my head on a continuous loop.

One had a throat injury but was continuing to preach (shout out to Dr. P).

Another was doing yoga during the service by a fountain.

At some point we were in a vestibule of our childhood church watching a football game from my present (not the Cowboys or Longhorns but rather the WSU Cougars).

My Mom didn't make an appearance but my long absent father did.

When I realized no matter how many times I rolled over and the dream wasn't going to change, I finally got up and hit the gym.

I have now gotten a workout in, scooped some poop, loved on one kitty, played with other, eaten breakfast, done a load of laundry, made a shopping list for the brunch casserole I am making for some of the peeps tomorrow while we watch the Giants and Eagles get it on, and am about to head out to pick up a RX refill and head over to the peninsula to see T and Snookums.

When I get home tonight, I have a presentation I need to put together and hope to be in bed with a more restful sleep than last night.

My subconscious can take a rest now. Do you hear my request God? Please and thank you.

Peace and Love Peeps.

I'm Alive

Hey there y'all.

I've been meaning to blog. I've been meaning to come by and see you. I've been meaning to do a lot of things this week since I arrived home late Tuesday night but I simply have not made the time.

It's been crazy around these parts.

Everything is good. I just have a lot going on. Don't we all though?

I won't bore you with weather conditions other than to say Yikes!

First the rain, then the wind, then the freezing temps, then the snow, then the ice, then the rain, then the wind, then the flooding, then the mudslides, then the avalanches.

Right now it is overcast only. Thank goodness. So when I say I am alive, it means more than did you miss me.

I hope you and yours are good. Mine are and for this I am very thankful.

I gotta go get back to the grind for now. I'll be by later and promise to update soon.

Peace and Love Peeps.

Hook 'Em!

In case you didn't know, Texas {in my opinion} was robbed and won't be playing in the BCS Championship game Thursday.

However, they are playing Monday in the Fiesta Bowl, against my second favorite college ball team.

Sorry Kim but you know my blood runs burnt orange. I want the Longhorns to beat the living tar out of the Buckeyes. I know you understand.

I'd love to say I know where I will be watching the game but I have no idea as of yet. As most of you know I get back on the road again early Sunday morning. I've made it known to work husband and dotted line boss man the game starts at 5:00 PM our time. It may be a feat for me to get them out of the office in time for kickoff.

But hey, that is what ESPN.com is for right? As long as I see at least the second half the game I will be happy. My wish is for the entire game but I have to weigh business needs with personal desire.

Just know come Monday night I will either be jumping for joy or hiding in my hotel room disappointed as all get out.

Let's hope joy is on my side a'right?

Peace and Love Peeps.

Happy

Yay for the unexpected!

Most of the time it is the little things in life that bring me the most joy.

Today is no exception.

Some of the things bringing happiness to my world right now, in no particular order, are
  • Snow in the last 24 hours but not so much it was difficult to deal with
  • Texas Tech's loss in the Cotton Bowl (God will forgive me for taking delight in that right?)
  • The PartyLite Aroma Melts emitting a nice and light scent
  • Jasmine eating and playing
  • Princess snuggling on my lap
  • Faith + Friends + Family
  • Finding out, even though the circumstances of how it is going down suck, someone very special to me will be making their way back this way soon
  • All my peeps being healthy
  • Music
  • A spur of the moment book choice from the library turning out to be a good read
  • Getting my yearly from my ob-gyn, being able to wish her well, and let her know she'll be missed in person
  • The support of my besties

How about you? What has you happy and giving thanks right now?

Peace and Love Peeps.

Today and Weekly Challenge #62

Ha! How fitting is it when I arrived here this morning Project Playlist randomly selected On the Road Again to greet me?

I just got back safely from a 2 day trip in Oregon New Year's Eve and I head back out Sunday morning for a 3 day excursion to the east side of the state.

This is one reason I am posting the weekly challenge early. The other reason is because of an appointment I have this afternoon.

Ladies, I know you can relate to how oh so fun our yearly exam is. Well, lemme tell you I am even more excited {NOT} as I have no idea who will be giving me this exam later today.

I received a letter from my ob-gyn mid December letting me know she was leaving the practice to begin a new phase of her career. While I am excited for her, I am sad for her departure and yes, a tiny bit irritated she is leaving before I can put today's "violation" behind me.

With all that being said, this week's challenge is to make those dreaded appointments.

I have my physical noted as task to call in May for a July appointment. What I have to motivate myself to do now is to go see my friend the dentist.

When we were babies our parents made sure we had regular check ups. Give yourself the same level of care. You deserve it.

Peace and Love Peeps.
