PSA
See I wasn't paying attention this morning when I got dressed. I just went for black without a thought as to what the finished result might be when sitting at my desk.
Yes peeps. My boobies are out there today. The girls do look good but it is not appropriate for the office, especially when you work with a bunch of men.
I went and asked a close, personal friend and facility manager if he had a safety pin laying around so I could pin 'em in.
His response? "No but I do have a push pin. If we push it in, will they deflate?"
Um no.
So in an attempt to take the attention off of the cleavage, I'm gonna' drink Pepsi and sit here and let the belches rip.
Think that will work?

Change of Plans & Timely Reminder
| I went to bed really late, or should I say early this morning...like 4:30 AM. Yea, insomnia sucks. However, I did get the rest of the place cleaned up with only needing to make the bed with the freshly washed linens (love that!), run the Dyson over the crap ass apartment carpet, and take the trash to BFE this morning. About 10:00 AM, when I realized the sun was not going to make an appearance and either a sweater or sweatshirt would be needed to make the day a pleasant one, I call Pete to find out if we were still going with Plan A. You know, bring the girls over, go to the park/beach, have some fun times with the paint, glitter, glue...all my artsy tartsy crafty stash as he calls it. We're going with Plan B. I'm heading over there to bbq at his place with a few of our other friends. You mean I could have not cleaned up yesterday? I could have been a bum and gone to a friend's bbq/party or stayed in and read? I was all set to chill here. The girls were super excited to be coming over. I figured worst case scenario was he could hang on the couch while the girls and I got our creative energies flowing and if all else failed, we could watch Charlotte's Web from On Demand. He's such a ball buster and a buzz kill. Just kidding. He's totally right that my place is a little small for all of us to hang all day and have the other peeps over for the bbq. You're not supposed to think of what could be. You are supposed to focus on what is. Lessens the disappointment and frustration. Live in the here and now. Embrace life. Live it. So, here's to Plan B and a big thank ya' shout out to the powers that be for reminding me to go with the flow, to not over think. To just be. Peace and Love Peeps. |

Making the Most of It

![]() ![]() |
I bet you can figure out how we spent the day yesterday.
After a few more hours of working, I crawled into bed, had just fallen asleep when I was woken up by Pete. He came in all stealth like and I am glad he did otherwise I would have wasted the day away sleeping.
We tossed around a few ideas and decide to run to the store to pick up some food to bbq later and then head to the pool to be lizards in the sun.
Wouldn't you know the cabana and pool were closed as they were doing work to get ready for this weekend and kick off to the summer?
So we loaded up the car and headed over to the lake and beach area about four minutes from my place.
It made up for the last few days of mad number crunching.
We lounged. We listened to tunes. We drank some goose. We talked. We read. We giggled. In a word, we chilled.
About four hours later we decided to head over to the local ale house for Thursday night happy hour. All the usual peeps, and then some, were there. Everyone had either been at the beach, on a boat or in their backyard so the laughs and carefreeness of summer is definitely upon us.
We never did get around to bbq'ing. I think I am supposed to pack the chicken and ears of corn and head to Pete's tonight.
We'll see as it supposed to be another fan-fabulous day here today.
So, with that being said, I am off like a dirty shirt. The sooner I get to the office, the sooner I can come out and play again.
Peace and Love Peeps.
Oh and T, the sunburn he mentioned on the phone turned golden brown by this morning...just like I knew it would. He and Kyla got along last night. Must have been the liquids they both consumed making them play nice huh?
And everyone else, in case you are wondering, I did "lock" the fur babies out of the bedroom last night. Princess snuck in and slept in the chair but she's the quiet one so no worries there. {insert drumroll} He slept in the bed.

Saving Me From Myself
Much needed Wednesday night break.
She saved me from myself.

****Pffft you punk ass bitch.**** |
Sweet Jesus
EDITED: This I do not understand. I post an entry. I come back to edit something. All this empty effing space adds to the orginal post. I try to delete the spaces and they stay.
WTF? I'm listening internet. What am I doing wrong? What can I do to fix this? To avoid it? Please tell me. I don't like the spaces anymore than you do. |
Let's talk about a couple of my Sweet Jesus moments lately shall we?
First up: I am slated to become the single cat lady people have joked about me being in my future. It's coming, soon, to my life.
See T and family are making their way back this way and their fur babies need a place to stay until they get settled.
There will be four pussy cats in this 700+ square foot dwelling. 2 meanies and 2 lovies.
Fun times in the summer time. Sweet Jesus.
I already briefed Pete on the situation and guess who won't be spending too much time over here during my journey into cat lady existence?
Second: I arrive home from work yesterday to find Pete asleep on the couch. We had a workout and night of chilling planned. When I tried to wake him up he tells me, through heavy lidded eyes, "Why can't you ever come in, leave me alone, and go do what you need to do?"
Don't hate. He was super tired, which I was too (staying up for 24 hours + will do that to me), and have learned that even if what he says when he is asleep has a hint of truth to it, I should not take it personally.
So, what did I do? Kissed him on the tip of his nose and proceeded to kick off my heels, walk to my home desk, and got another four hours of work in while he slept.
I finally woke him up around 7:45. We watched sports center, talked for a bit, debated on whether to get dinner (we didn't), and headed to bed at 10:00.
Sweet Jesus. We're becoming truly domestic. And it is all good.
And in case you are wondering, we did. Oh and let me just say, it was a nice and tender, slow, loving interaction. Sweet Jesus.
Third: Deadlines suck. Last minute deadlines really suck. I am truly in the depths of a deadline that is getting the best of me.
Maybe they are called deadlines because you just might be in the process of killing yourself to meet the expectation.
I normally have two to three days to complete the task at hand and I have less than a day to get some analysis done.
My dear Sweet Jesus is on my side and knowing this, I won't be dead when I cross this analysis finish line.
Back to the number crunching I go.
Peace and Love Peeps.

Been There, Done That & Have a T-Shirt to Prove It
1. Fine: This is the word women use to end an argument when they are right and you need to shut up.
2. Five Minutes: If she is getting dressed, this means a half an hour. Five minutes is only five minutes if you have just been given five more minutes to watch the game before helping around the house.
3. Nothing: This is the calm before the storm. This means something, and you should be on your toes. Arguments that begin with nothing usually end in fine.
4. Go Ahead: This is a dare, not permission. Don't Do It!
5. Loud Sigh: This is actually a word, but is a non-verbal statement often misunderstood by men. A loud sigh means she thinks you are an idiot and wonders why she is wasting her time standing here and arguing with you about nothing. (Refer back to #3 for the meaning of nothing.)
6. That's Okay: This is one of the most dangerous statements a women can make to a man. That's okay means she wants to think long and hard before deciding how and when you will pay for your mistake.
7. Thanks: A woman is thanking you, do not question, or Faint. Just say you're welcome.
8. Whatever: Is a women's way of saying (I don’t care what they say, real Saints don’t cuss) YOU!
9. Don't worry about it, I got it: Another dangerous statement, meaning this is something that a woman has told a man to do several times, but is now doing it herself. This will later result in a man asking "What's wrong?" For the woman's response refer to #3.

Spring Has Sprung

Day 1 and Counting
| I'd love to tell you the girls are all getting along but hell to the N-O. Princess has taken up residence in the hallway and is doing her best imitation of a wild cougar. She is growling, hissing, and jabbing to her heart's content. Good girl. Protect your domain. I praise you because this way I don't have to worry about Farrah helping herself to kitty almond rocca's, dirty clothes, or leather shoes. Momma loves you for being so fierce. Jasmine is howling like a banshee. She too is hissing and jabbing away. Earlier tonight she even lunged for Farrah's neck with a little bite. Don't worry peeps. Both the kitties are declawed and the bite was nothing more than a mouthful of pomeranian fur. Farrah is holding her own. It's gonna' be a crazy few days I can tell. I'm betting just about the time they start to get comfortable with each other, Farrah will go home. Onward to other random items. Have you tried the new, limited edition summer flavor Pepsi? I did tonight on my way home from Pete's and it was yummy. Just what I need though. Something yummy and full of sugar when I am seriously trying to get my ass back in gear and drop some pounds that somehow just up and came back...all on my ass and thighs...like overnight. And like my ass and thighs weren't big enough to begin with. The gym will become my very best friend in the weeks to come. I can finally do 20 minutes at 4.0 on a 3.5 incline without getting winded again. Running is still out of the question. Lifting is good to go too. Pete is challenging me to a game of tennis or racquetball. I'm down and now might be the right time to do it so I won't hurt his ego by beating him. See if I can't run on the treadmill, how will I be able to keep up on the court like I normally do? I got winded playing hoops with him tonight before dinner and all we were doing was a small game of 1 on 1 in the driveway. I won in horse though. After bball he grilled burgers and we, along with his roomie and his roomie's son, watched the games...until Pete and I fell asleep on the couch. Oh yea. That's some exciting times I tell you. I believe I have officially become an old fart I used to make fun of back in the day. Falling asleep on the couch, watching tv, before 9:00 PM. I'm such a party animal. Getting up at the butt crack of dawn and getting to bed late doesn't help but hey that's what being a responsible adult does for and to you right? And speaking of sleep, I'm getting up early so I'm out for the night. Peace and Love Peeps. |

Have You Ever Wondered?
Must be Murphy's Law or something.
I went to Impress tonight before happy hour to pick up a punch I had on reserve (one of the file tab ones) and holy heck did they ever have some super suwheet papers in!
I was in hog heaven peeps. I almost went crazy but you'd be so proud of me. I only picked up two. Yes, you just read that correctly, only two and for a particular project in mind.

Introspection
Candles.
A very large part of my life.
Call me a pyro. Call it an obsession. Call it what you want. I love me some candles.
Tea lights, pillars, jar candles...they spell relaxation for me.
There is nothing more that I love than to come home, light all the candles, reflect on the day, unwind, set a mood.
Do you get what I am saying here?
Remember when the power went out in December and the girls came over here with their fur babies because they knew I would have the most light available considering the circumstances?
Well, they challenged me to keep up with how much I spend on candles for a year.
Not one to back down, I took them up on it and started tracking my purchases 01.01.07.
Here's a quick break down to date:
$17.42 - pillars for hurricanes
$21.78 - ice block pillars for entryway wall
$27.22 - ice block pillars for fireplace
$28.31 - jar candle on nightstand
Let me do the math for you and let you in on how my mind works a little bit more than you already know.
The total to date is $94.73.
May 15 is day 135 of 365.
If I burned the candles every day since January, which we know I have not but roll with it, that equates to $.70 a day. That's less than buying a latte a day. So even though $94.73 for candles may seem like a lot, it is actually not that much, especially considering the peace it brings me.
Then, since I figured out May 15 is day 135, I determined 36% of the year has passed leaving us with 63% remaining.
Have you accomplished what you set out to do so far this year?
It is never too late to get started. I know I have lots to get cracking on.

Randomness and Hibernation

We'll talk about this in a minute.
First I would like to say HAPPY MOTHER'S DAY!
Please forgive me, all you wonderful ladies and mommas in my world, please? I did not, and still have not, made your mother's day cards. It does not mean I was not thinking of you, because I have been. It simply means I have been busy and decided to take my own advice and hibernate, which means I have not done one thing on the list of things to do.
Well, I have cleaned up most of my place and caught up on my sleep. But I have not done those cards among other cards and projects I need to do. I took the hibernation to the true level and spirit it was intended in.
Friday night I headed over to Pete's for dinner. Before I went I stopped by the library to drop off some books, pick one up from reserve, and decided I would grab some back issues of the Rubber Stamper and Creating Keepsakes. I'm always on the look out for inspiration ya' know.
So there I sit, in the recliner, kicking back and relaxing while Pete was grilling. I am minding my own business and am enjoying the quiet time. And then it hits.
The teasing that is. He was like, "Are you serious? That is the most obscure magazine. And on a Friday night this is how you choose to pass away some of the time?"
Yes, my darling, it is. Then I proceeded to point out to him he doesn't seem to mind the art projects I have done with the girls, the cards and little surprises I make for him, or the birthday present we are working on for his mom so back up off me buddy.
He got it, gave me a kiss, and walked away laughing. Hmmm...wait until he finds out I am going to a show at the fairgrounds next weekend and again in July.
Plus he should be thankful I spent my Friday night doing that otherwise he might have found me sleeping in the chair instead of being wide awake waiting for my cow and tater not to mention that I found a super cute idea for his Father's Day gift from the girls. Thanks Ali Edwards. You have inspired me once again.
Saturday I slept and slept some more. Did some reading. A couple loads of laundry. And huddled in the bed with the kitties while I caught up on this week's dvr'ed shows. Love me a marathon session of Bones, Criminal Minds, Grey's Anatomy, CSI, ER, Close to Home, and Real World. I really need to catch up on Oprah. I am 16 shows behind.
Today I slept in some more, had some quiet time talking to mom, starting cleaning, baked some chocolate chip muffins, and plan on taking it easy for the rest of the day.
I, thankfully, am home all week. I was supposed to be gone three days in two cities but due to some of Friday's activities, we cancelled the trip. This is a good thing because I get to play catch up around the office and here. I can use the time at home.
Which means y'all should be treated to some pictures and daily updates. Now, aren't you feeling lucky and excited? :)
For now, I am signing off. I have more hibernation to attend to.
Peace and Love Peeps.
